2008 Summer Season in NJ

7.6.08 -- Inshore Trip

Fishing inshore on the South end of the Axel-Carlson reef proved effective today. The water temp was around 65 degrees and we were fishing in 75 feet of water. Catch 10 fluke with only a couple of keepers and catch 47 sea bass with 28 keeper fish and a couple monsters mixed in. Early in the afternoon a school of bunkers pushed in and we managed to catch a 355 lb. Thresher shark. The Thresher put on a great show airing out all over the ocean. Angler Glenn fought the fish 2 hours before getting it to the boat. Epic battle on light tackle...20 lb. test...
