2012 Jupiter Billfish Tournament

The 6th Annual Jupiter Billfish Tournament was a great success, paying out over $344,000.00 the largest pay out in JBT history! Also making history this year is our winning team “Doing it all” they are the first team of live baiters to win this tournament since it’s inception 6 years ago. Predominately the tournament has always been won by a dead bait team. This year marked an exciting revelation in the live/dead bait argument though out the years, day one was the dead baiters day, the bite was north and the trollers dominated that day and by day two the game changed for the live baiters allowing them to take the lead even despite the points advantage dead baiters receive. It goes to show that it can be anyone’s win, despite the point difference depending on the bite! Although our 1st place winning team “Doing it all” released the most fish and are the overall winning team, due to calcutta entries our largest payout went to the the team on the “Miss Annie” who took home $140,505.00 for their 2nd Place win! The team on “Outlaw” took home $82,000.00 for 3rd Place. A total 39 boats fished and 417 fish were released in two days.
