2012 Mid Atlantic $500,000 Ocean City MD

With a large turnout of 188 boats entered, the 2012 Mid-Atlantic $500,000 Tournament in late August was a great success paying out over $1,600,000. The Tournament is fished both out of the Canyon Club in Cape May and Sunset Marina in Ocean City, Maryland where the majority of the boats fished from.

Day two shaped up to be very productive for the Miss Annie Team with a forecast of light to variable winds and seas less than three feet. The 109 boats elected to go out on what will go down as the best day of the Tuna weight-ins in the Tournament’s 21 year history! When the dust settled, Barry Weshnak’s Miss Annie of Singer Island, Florida, was in 2nd place with a 224 lb. Bigeye Tuna. The Tuna bite during the Tournament was unprecedented and nearly four dozen Tuna were brought to the scale in one week, including three dozen Bigeye Tuna caught on day two. The Miss Annie held on to win the 2nd Place heaviest Tuna prize of $115,413 and also took 1st Place for the most Tuna points accumulated during the Tournament totaling 463.

The following weeks in Ocean City Maryland proved to be just as productive as during the Tournament weeks of the White Marlin Open and the Mid-Atlantic $500,000 with a hot White Marlin and Blue Marlin bite with a 500+ pound Blue Marlin being the largest Blue so far this season for the Miss Annie.
